Menorca in one day
Menorca in one day: where to begin?
If you can, we recommend that you start your route through Ciutadella, the old capital of the island. You can park the vehicle in the downtown parking area and walk around its historic centre.
Walk through the alleys of its old town and let yourself be impregnated by the history of its buildings. We recommend you to visit Plaça Nova, the Mercat del Peix, the medieval wall and the cathedral of Santa Maria.
Before you get in the car, don’t forget to walk around the port. It is located under the Plaça des Born, you will love it!
Your next stop will be on one of the most paradisiacal beaches on the island. Driving through the southern round, in the direction of Mahon, we will find the beaches of the south. You can choose between Cala Turqueta, Macarella or Macarelleta, or San Saura.
Any of these beaches will transport you to paradise. Its crystalline waters and white sand have nothing to envy to the Caribbean.
Following the route, we recommend that you visit two villages: The first is the village of Ironworks. It is one of the inland villages of the island and one of the most crowded.
The second place is the fishing village of Binibeca. It is a small white village where the fish is its protagonist. Walk through the streets and take a fresh fish lid with a white wine from the island.
You can follow your route through Menorca in one day visiting the capital: Mahon. Walk through the streets, and let your streets take you to the port. There are a couple of viewpoints that can offer you wonderful views. We also recommend that you go through the grocery market and visit the fish market.
Visiting Menorca will allow you to know the essentials of the island .
The night of your route to Menorca in one day is approaching. When you think it’s time for dinner, you can sit on a terrace to have a Gin Xoriguer accompanied by toast with Mahon cheese and Sobrasada. For the next day we booked a surprise.
You cannot leave Menorca without visiting one of its emblems: the Lighthouses. It depends on your location, you can visit the lighthouse of Favaritx, the lighthouse of L’illa of S’aire, the lighthouse of Cavalleria, the lighthouse of Punta Nati or the lighthouse of Artrutx.
With this route you will see the charm of most of the island. Although if you want to add another stop or you are lucky enough to be able to extend the trip, do not forget to visit the town of Fornells, eat a stew of lobster and bathe in the beaches of the north.
